My New Year's Resolution

MY NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION

New Year is a very important occasion to all of us. It is a blessing for us because there is another year of our life that God has given to us. Every New Year, every person have a New Year's Resolution. Good or bad, because if we talk about resolution it is the act of resolving or the state of being resolved, determination, a fixed intention and a formal decision or opinion. It is apart of change.
My New Year's Resolution is to change my bad characteristics into good one's in order to have a better life. I want to become a good person, a good student and especially a good daughter. I want to become a good christian believer and to serve God as a part of D.Y.A. I want to become a good leader as a SK councilor in our barangay. I want to study hard in order to reach my ambitions in life with the help of our Almighty Father because I know in Him, nothing is impossible. I want to change because I'm still young and I know it is not yet the end.

My Personality
Enneagram Type 7:Epicure, Entertainer, Optimist, Adventurer or Rationalizer
Overview
You want to be fascinating, fascinated, optimistic and enthusiastic. More importantly, you want to be stimulated, creative, positive and excited. You see yourself as visionary, diverse and playful. You would like others to see you as interesting, sophisticated and fun loving. Your idealized image is that you are happy and joyful.
Outgoing and spontaneous, you love anything that is new, novel or unusual. A charmed charmer, you are fascinated by people, places and ideas. Upbeat, positive and optimistic, you naturally cheer up and inspire others. Quick to laugh and make a joke, you easily entertain people. You are also easily entertained. An idealist and visionary, you strive to create a paradise on earth by sharing your vision of love, equality and freedom. A ‘jack of all trades’, you often have diverse skills and interests. You are innovative, multi-talented, creative and at home in the world of things and experiences.
Like the hummingbird that moves in a frenzied blur from flower to flower, you seek the sweet nectar of excitement, new experiences, people and travel. If life gets you down, you escape your anxiety and boredom through variety and activity. Uneasiness is kept at bay by keeping busy with interesting and diverse experiences. Seeking a positive future with unlimited possibilities, you believe that the sky is the limit. You enjoy new ideas and live in the world of your imagination where you can manifest your dreams. You have a talent for squeezing the boredom and monotony out of routine tasks, turning the mundane into the magical.
A creative spirit, you need to be free to follow your heart. Eternally young, you have the light-heartedness of a precocious child or court jester. For you, love is about giving and getting your way – if you are loved, you will be indulged. Even if you are shy, you wish to be seen as a cool, hip, trendsetter. At times, you may act superior to others – even though you may secretly fear that you are inferior to them. An equalitarian, you enjoy people from all walks of life. Rather than buck authority, you find the way around it. Using your quick wit, bright eyes and ready smile, you have a knack for avoiding and diffusing conflict.
NeedYou need self-confidence, options, patience and to be noticed by others. Also, you need to be positive and optimistic. Because you are always on the lookout for the BBD (bigger, better, deal), you need plans that are flexible and fluid. If you have open-ended plans, you can go with the flow. Flexibility gives you the option to change your mind at the last minute.
AvoidYou avoid boredom, sadness and emotional pain. You fear limitation, feeling trapped or appearing inferior. Feeling incomplete or confined, or missing out are among your deepest fears. You avoid painful emotions because you are afraid that you will become overwhelmed if you talk about or feel them. You also avoid negative people as they can bring you down. This can lead you to avoid the present by living in a future fantasy of plans.
VirtueYour greatest strengths are your visionary abilities, to think or do things in new ways and to manifest joyful abundance. You are loving, creative and generous. Like a colorful hot air balloon that takes people above life’s troubles, you are an angel of mercy who deals out random acts of kindness to those in need. You can’t bear to see people sad or suffering, and you take it as your personal responsibility to ensure that others experience happiness, joy and fun in their lives. Because you are innovative, you can easily turn lemons into lemonade and a lemonade stand into a successful business.
Vice
Your vices are gluttony, overdoing and seeking stimulation until you collapse or become ill. In order for you to experience joy and fulfillment, it is critical that you follow through on your ideas by realizing them. If your dreams remain unmet, you can become jaded, selfish and/or greedy. As you become increasingly self-indulgent and lose your sense of commitment and follow through, you can become flaky, letting commitments slide and people down. You can also be dogmatic and overly critical of others. If you have clamped down on your excessive ways, you may judge those who are mirrors of your indulgent past.
Attention
Your attention goes to a positive future, planning, your imagination and multiple options. You can become paralyzed by options because you are afraid of missing out. You may feel like a child running down the aisles of a toy store who is fearful of choosing one toy and missing out on the rest.
Spiritual Path
Your spiritual journey is to search for right work and focused concentration. Spiritual growth will come to you when you approach life with disciplined sobriety instead of getting high on new ideas, options and plans. Like a stone skipping across a lake that sinks deeply when it comes to rest, you will do well to slow down, experience your inner depths, and focus on completion.
Mantra
Freedom will exist when you accept the limitations of the present moment. Remember that envisioning something is not the same as manifesting it. True freedom comes with commitment and hard work – not from having unlimited options.
Wing
If you are the Enneagram Type 7 with the 6 Wing, you desire to be eye-catching. You see yourself as exciting, relaxed, creative, curious, bright, alive and witty.
If you are the Enneagram Type 7 with the 8 Wing, you desire to be a free spirit. You see yourself as free, passionate, loving, adventurous, strong and creative.
Famous 7s

3. The first paragraph of the speech of president GMA in any occasion

As your President, I care too much about this nation
to let anyone stand in the way of our people’s wellbeing.
Hindi ko papayagang humadlang ang sinuman
sa pag-unlad at pagsagana ng taong bayan.
I will let no one – and no one’s political plans –
threaten our nation’s survival.

Our country and our people have never failed
to be there for us. We must be there for them now.

Executive Summary | Agenda

Every man’s goal of pursuing happiness in the fulfillment of life can only be achieved by attaining the most in his individual development, and by contributing the greatest to the cause of humanity. The first is developing himself into a whole man, and the second is responding to his social responsibility to his fellow man.

Jose Marie Mortel Bautista, now Ramon Bong Revilla Jr., is one of the coveted few who has attained exemplary accomplishments in his own chosen endeavor and made outstanding contributions to the plight of the small man. Born on September 25, 1966 in Manila to Jose Bautista Sr. and Azucena Mortel, he obtained his elementary education at the Jesus Good Shepherd School in Imus, Cavite in 1977. He then went to High School at Fairfax High School n Los Angeles, California, United States. His early engagement in a lucrative movie career, however, following the footsteps of his legendary film star father,”Nardong Putik’” restrained nominee’s pursuit of a college degree thus opting for self-education outside the classroom. He married a fellow film star, Jesusa Victoria Hernandez popularly known as Lani Mercado, with whom he is blessed with six wonderful children. The fully bloomed careers of father and son surged into immense popularity, widely idolized nationwide and their innate element of human attachment to common people propelled their successful entry to the political realm. His father who has adopted the film name, “Ramon Revilla” was elected Member of the Philippine Senate for two consecutive terms, 1992-1998 and 1998-2004, and sits as the Chairman of the Philippine Reclamation Authority since 2004. Nominee who has adopted the film name Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., followed suit. He was elected in the Province of Cavite as the youngest Vice Governor in 1995 and the youngest Governor in 1998. He served as Chairman of the Videogram Regulatory Board from 2001 to 2004. Finally, he was elected the youngest Member of the Philippine Senate in 2004 for a six-year term until 2010, where he is the Chairman of three Committees, namely Public Works, Public Information and Mass Media and the Joint Congressional Oversight Committee on the Optical Media Board.

The handsome movie star was equally magnanimous and benevolent in his shining moments. In the process, he looked at the welfare of fellow actors, stunt men, stage and props handlers, and other fellow workers in the industry. He shared countless assistance to the less fortunate and the aging. His social recognition of the small man found wider application when he became public administrator in his own province of Cavite. He reverted to the movie and film industry vis a vis public service when he served in another function as Chairman of the Videogram Regulatory Board protecting the intellectual rights of writers, singers, artists and producers.

In his sterling public administration and legislative career, Senator Revila was endowed with a diploma on Philippine Legislative Institutions and Processes from the Development Academy of the Philippines in November 2003. National and International awards render evidence to his administrative prowess and service to the greatest number: Most Outstanding Governor (Gawad Papuri Awards, Peryodiko ng Masa, 1998; Philippine National Police Region IV, 1999; Department of Health, Philippines, 2000; and Huwarang Lingkod Bayan (Consumers League of Philippines, 2003.) Lifetime Achievement Awards (Excellence in the Field of Education, the Department of Education and Sports, 1996; Outstanding Anti-Drug Campaign, Philippine National Police, 1997; Lifetime Achievement Award, National Press Club, 1998; Medal of Valor, and International Award of Honor, International Narcotics Enforcement Officers Association, 1999; Exemplary Search and Rescue Operations, Department of Transportation and Communications, 1999; Campaign Against Child Labor, NEDA, UNICEF, 1999; He was conferred post baccalaureate, a Doctorate Degree in Public Administration (Honoris Causa) by the Cavite State University in 2005 and a Doctorate Degree in Humanities (Honoris Causa) by the Nueva Vizcaya State University in 2006.

“The true measure of a man is not found in what he can do, nor in what he intends to do, but in what he has done and in what he is doing.” Never has one so young achieved so much so soon!

World Trade Center Attack

September 11, 2001

Our prayers and deepest sympathy to everyone involved in this attack.

Photos

Our Brooklyn office was across the river from Manhattan, and has a full view of the World Trade Center. The following pictures were taken consecutively throughout the morning.

A shot of the beautiful, full Manhattan skyline several months before the attack:

appx. 8:45am, Sept. 11 Shortly after the first attack:

appx. 9:05am, Sept. 11 About a minute after the second attack:

appx. 10:45am, Sept. 11 Shortly after the first tower collapsed:

appx. 12:00pm, Sept. 11 After both towers have fallen and the rubble is beginning to clear:

6:15pm, Sept. 11 The view of the scene has changed very little. Smoke has overtaken most of lower Manhattan and the fumes and residue from the fires has traveled at least as far as Park Slope, Brooklyn.

11:45am, Sept. 13After two days (fifty-one hours after the first attack), the smoke continues to billow in the empty space that once held the twin towers of the World Trade Center:

6:00pm, Sept. 13 After fifty-seven hours, the smoke is just starting to clear:

Summary of Events

The events on September 11, 2001, chronologically, are:
  • Airplane hits North tower, at about 8:45am
  • Airplane hits South tower, at about 9:05am
  • The South tower collapses, at roughly 10:30am (not clear as to whether the entire tower is leveled or only the top-half -- we cannot see through the rubble)
  • The North tower collapses, at roughly 11:00am (again, not clear as to how much of the tower, if any, remains standing)
  • World Trade Center Building #7 collapes, at roughly 6:00pm (building 7 is a 57-story building that caught on fire as a result of the attack)
According to CNN, the planes that were used in the attack were American Airlines Flight 11 (a Boeing 767 carrying 92 people) and United Airlines Flight 175. Flight 11 hit the north tower, and flight 175 hit the south tower.

I personally witnessed the attack on the second tower. I was awestruck by the event, but it did not appear to be a passenger jet to me. It appeared to be a large, black, airplane. (6:15pm, 9/11 update: After seeing the impact several times on CBS news, it became apparent to me that the plane appeared black because it was pitched slightly up and to the left as it hit the building. I saw the underside of the airplane, which was not lit by the sun.) It flew across the sky, and directly into the middle of the South tower. Several floors exploded into flames after the crash (see pictures above). Words cannot express the horror that was felt by all those witnessing the second attack, and the later collapse of each of the buildings. The impact was audible on the Brooklyn side of the river, but was not overly load or explosive. At this point, it appears that neither of the planes carried any explosives.

We've been plastered to the 1010 WINS (1010AM) news in New York. Radio reports say that there are several inches of dust and ash all throughout the WTC area. Many NYC-based workers are leaving their jobs, walking home to the outer boroughs (Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens). Limited train and ferry service is starting up again (as of 1:15pm) for people leaving Manhattan. It appears as if all bridges to Manhattan are open for outgoing, foot traffic only.

All New York City public schools are closed tomorrow, September 12, as are the financial markets worldwide (NYSE, NASDAQ, London, Japan, Germany). All business south of 14th street in Manhattan are closed. Mayor Guilliani has urged all citizens that work in Manhattan not to go to work tomorrow unless they absolutely have to.
